Udoka Okpalauwaekwe, MBBS, MPH, PhD (candidate)

Dr. Okpalauwaeke is a Nigerian family physician and researcher with research interests in population health, primary care, prevention, and wellness promotion using participatory research and other collaborative approaches. Udoka’s keen interest is in seeing communities empowered and sustainably transformed through meaningful and authentic engagement that answers their own research questions. As part of his doctoral research, Udoka is working with Indigenous youth in Sturgeon Lake First Nations, Saskatchewan Canada to facilitate processes that will enhance health and wellness by, for, and with the community. Udoka has demonstrated skills in quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods research, research co-design, and knowledge translation with research partners. Udoka also has experience with systematic reviews, meta-analysis and rapid reviews that facilitate informed decision making.
